MEGADETH guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine recently underwent surgery for stenosis, a neck and spine condition that he says was caused by “years of headbanging.” He writes on Twitter, “[October 5] was two-week check-up. In a brand new interview with Metal Obsession, MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover stated about Mustaine‘s post-surgery recovery processs, “He’s recovered really well. Everything went really well and the surgery was a complete success. You know, he just needs time to heal. It takes time to heal. He needs to rest up before our South American tour in November. He really needed to have it done. He was in a lot of pain for the last several shows that we did during the [Rockstar Energy Drink] Mayhem tour and at the [‘Big Four‘ show at the] Yankee Stadium [in New York City] as well.
